Ronald Keith Brown, Jr., 33 of Beebe, went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2018. Keith was born to Ronald Brown of Carlisle and Tamatha Parr of Ward on November 4, 1985 in Little Rock. Keith was a loving and caring father, son, brother, and uncle. He was devoted to family and his children were his joy. He loved being outdoors fishing, hunting, and camping. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Keith was preceded in death by cousin, Matt Brown; uncle, Mike Brown; aunt, Melissa Bryant; grandparents, OJ and Francis Brown; grandfather, Charles Bryant, and many other loved ones.

Keith leaves behind his children, Sara and Christopher Brown of Des Arc, and son, Caden Spencer-Brown of Kensett; his fiancé, Alisha Hawks of Beebe and children, Ashton, Aaliyah, Faith, and Sofia; father, Ronald Brown (Kim) of Carlisle; mother, Tamatha Parr (John) of Ward; brothers, Billy brown (Laura) of Vilonia, Luke Brown (Misty) of Cabot; sisters, Ann Abel (Chuck) of Ward, Tabatha Martin (Matthew) of Austin, Audrey Brown (Ben) of Clifton, Louisiana; grandmother, Joyce Bryant of Ward; uncles, Buddy Brown (Nancy) of Hazen, Mike Bryant (Sharon) of Beebe, Eddy Bryant of Ward, Paul Bryant (Kathy) of Ward; aunt, Jane Smith of Carlisle; cousins, Mandy Brown of Des Arc, Aaron and Anthony Brown of Hazen, Tyler Brown of Antioch, Eric Brown of Indiana, Meagan and Charles Bryant, and numerous others; nieces and nephews, Samantha, Hunter, Carter, Holly, Shyenne, Michael, Robert, Emma, Gunner, Haylee, Kylee, Caleb and Riley.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at the Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Hazen. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the service. Burial will be in the Walter’s Chapel Cemetery.

Julie Farris Bonner

Julie Farris Bonner, 52 of Brinkley, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 surrounded by her family and friends.   Julie was a homemaker and loved taking care of her home and yard.  She had a love and an art for decorating her home.  Julie had a special cat named “Maggie” that she had for over 18 years.

Julie is survived by her husband, Russell Bonner; her mother, Rita Farris of Biscoe; two sisters, Ann Farris Tober (Greg) of Biscoe and Lydia Farris Duke (Mike) of Brinkley; her in-laws, Gilbert and Susie Bonner; sister-in-law, Amy Bonner; four nephews; one niece; and two great nieces.  Julie was preceded in death by her father, Roger Farris.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen.  Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 15 at the Biscoe First Baptist Church.  Burial will be in the Hazen Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Helen Red

Helen Red, of Hazen, was born on February 17, 1926 and passed away peacefully on November 10, 2018. A Prairie County resident for most of her life, Helen was the daughter of Alton and Dailey (Pyrtle) Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. “Jake” Red; brother, Ralph, and sisters, Bettye and Dorothy. Helen is survived by her daughter, Gail (Red) Cox; granddaughter, Leigh (Cox) Turner and Husband Britt Turner; grandson, Dax Cox; great grandchildren, Jaycie and Jake Turner, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Visitation and Funeral will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Hazen, Arkansas. Visitation will start at 1:00 P.M. with the funeral to follow at 2:00 P.M.. Burial will be in the Hazen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Activity Fund of the Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle, Arkansas or toward the Hazen Cemetery.

Mary Roberts

Mary Roberts, 87 of Carlisle, Arkansas went to be with the Lord at Circle of Life in Bentonville, Arkansas Friday, November 2, 2018. She was born to Andrew and Ora Spencer on March 11, 1931. Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Albert. She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Wooley of Bentonville, two granddaughters, Amanda Genest and husband, Steve and Angela Wooley of Bentonville; three great grandchildren, Michael and Ashley Genest, Mackenzie Jacobs all of Bentonville and her twin sister, Nettie Dean Moody of Carlisle.

Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 A.M., Monday at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen at 115 North Livermore Street. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Walter’s Chapel Cemetery in Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Circle of Life, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712.

Mary Ellen Mertens Lloyd

Mary Ellen Mertens Lloyd, 98, died peacefully in her home in Hazen on November 1, 2018. A lifelong resident of Prairie County, Mary Ellen was married for 68 years to the late F.M. “Buddy” Lloyd, a Prairie county farmer and World War II Navy Seabee.

She was born July 16, 1920 in the Peppers Lake community to George and Amy Beeler Mertens. Known by the nickname “Mac”, Mary Ellen was a graduate of De Valls Bluff High School, a lifelong Methodist and a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling to places like New Zealand, Hawaii, Alaska and Canada and was an avid crossword puzzler, canasta player and Skip-Bo master.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her sister, Dixie Bowers and brother, Hugh “Buddy” Mertens. She is survived by brothers, George “Dutch” Mertens of Arkadelphia and Don Mertens (Linda) of De Valls Bluff, and daughters, Lana Dodson (Garnett) of Hazen and Judy Landers (Win) of McKinney, Texas. Other survivors include grandchildren Tracy Maple (Scott) of Wye; Bret Dickie (Carolyn) of McKinney, Texas; and Kari Sayger (Troy) of Hazen; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Hazen First United Methodist Church. Services will follow immediately at the church. Burial will be at Peppers Lake Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Baptist Hospice and Mary Ellen’s special caregiver, Sandra Kay Penn.
