Ava Hudson Measels, 77 of Carlisle, went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2018. She was born March 12, 1941 in Hazen.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Carlisle.
Ava was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Pauline Hudson, and her brothers, Glenn Hudson and Narris Hudson.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bobby Measels; her sister, Delores (Bob) Hamric of Hazen; her children, Betty Jones (Fred) of Carlisle, Gina Wilson (Gerry) of Perryville, Amy Terry (Alan) of Paragould and Richard Measels of Carlisle; grandchildren, Drew Conner, Emily Overturf, Rachael Adams and Jacob Adams, Jack Measels and Garrett Measels, and a great-grandson, Jude Adams.
Ava loved reading the Bible which she read through many times, going to church whenever the doors were open, quilting, singing in the church choir, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Carlisle at 319 South Court Street from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., followed immediately by a service at 11:00 A.M. and burial immediately following at the Carlisle Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Fred Jones, Gerry Wilson, Alan Terry, Drew Conner, Jacob Adams, and Jamie Cunningham.

Eva was a good Christian woman who loved her family and the Lord. Leon and I will pray for God’s comfort for all of her precious family. Your mother has found her peace, I hope you can find yours.
