Georgia Edna (Booth) Caviness

Georgia Edna (Booth) Caviness, age 84, of Hazen, Arkansas, passed peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 14th, 2026 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Georgia was born January 29, 1942, to the late Ed and Emogene Booth of Hazen, Arkansas.

Georgia grew up in Hazen and graduated from Hazen High School; just a few years after graduating high school she married her husband, Vernon Caviness Sr., also of Hazen. Together Georgia and Vernon made their home on the Caviness family farm, where they raised five children.

In the later years Georgia pursued her passion of helping others and became a certified massage therapist; she loved being a massage therapist and shared this with the wonderful people she met. Georgia was greatly blessed to have so many friends and family that looked after and cared for her in her final years.

At home, Georgia found joy in being outside, gardening, and tending to all her animals.
Georgia attended Center Point missionary Baptist Church most of her life; later she attended New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she continued to worship and serve as she was physically able.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Emogene Booth; her baby sister, Shirley Booth; her husband, Vernon Caviness, Sr.; her son, Tracy Caviness; and grandsons, Harold-Allen Vaughan III and James Adam Herrick.

Georgia loved all of her family. She is survived by her two loving and caring brothers, Larry (Donna) Booth and Billy (Nona Gail) Booth of Hazen; who took extra care of her in her final years; Her children, Sandra Smith (David) of Cardwell, Montana, Margaret Vaughan (Allen) of McAllister, Montana, Vernon Caviness, Jr. (Carol) of Ward, Arkansas, and John Caviness (Kristi) of Hazen, Arkansas; her seven grandchildren, nine great‑grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Georgia will be Saturday, April 18th, 2026 with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. with funeral services immediately following beginning at 2:00 P.M. held at Center Point Missionary Baptist Church located north of Hazen; Interment immediately following in Center Point Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Center Point Cemetery in memory of Georgia, donations can be sent to P.O. Box 273 Hazen, Arkansas.

Arrangements are entrusted with Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen, Arkansas.
