Stephen Anthony “Steve” Chudy, age 72, passed away on August 30, 2026. Steve was born on April 10, 1954, to the late Connie and Rook Chudy.
He graduated from Hazen High School with the class of 1972 and spent his life farming. In his retirement years, Steve helped at Stovesand Auction Company. Steve was an avid outdoorsman who loved duck hunting and was active in waterfowl conservation. He was passionate about high school sports and spent many years as a basketball referee and baseball umpire. In recent years, he began cooking meals and posting pictures of them on Facebook and loved reading the comments on his culinary adventures; some were hits, and some were definitely misses. Steve also loved spending time with his grandkids.
Steve is survived by his wife, Sheila; his sons, Andy (Laura) Chudy, and Alan Chudy; his two grandchildren, Anthony and Kate Chudy.
Services for Steve will be Friday, September 4th, 2026, at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 9:30 A.M., Rosary following at 10:00 A.M. and Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 A.M.
