Joyce Nadine McGee Scott, 81, of Clarendon passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Baptist Health Medical Center Stuttgart.
A daughter of Clotus and Lola McGee, Joyce was born November 3, 1936 in De Valls Bluff, Arkansas. She was married 57 years to John E. Scott and was blessed with two children; Tami Gaye and K. Eddie Scott. They co-owned and operated Scott’s Garage and Auto Parts, Inc. and Scott’s Wrecker Service in Clarendon until retiring in 1998. She was a long-time member of the Clarendon First Baptist church and gave her time to various committees as well as teaching her granddaughter’s Sunday School Class. Joyce was an active member in the community and served on various advisory boards and committees in Clarendon and around the state. “Granny”, as she was known, loved nothing more than spending time spoiling “her girls” and later her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John and beloved daughter, Tami. She is survived by her devoted son, Eddie (Jackie) Scott of Stuttgart; two grandchildren: Leah (Hunter) Carter and Kelsey (Clay) Abel, both of Stuttgart, and seven great-grandchildren, Finley and Camille Carter, Maddox, Beckett, and Bella Kate Jessup and Katie and Maggie Abel.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28th at the Clarendon First Baptist Church with services following at 2:00 P.M.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Morgan and the staff of Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle for their loving care of our Granny. The family requests that memorials be sent to: Shady Grove Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 194, Clarendon, Arkansas 72029.
Joyce and I were friends thru school . . . Both at Idlewood and then when we were old enough to go to DeValls Bluff.. . .We were as close as friends could be until graduation in 1954.. . .I know you will miss her . . . Hoping you have a LOT of happy memories to help. My thoughts are with you.

I’ve known this lovely lady with the heartwarming smile since my early childhood. Wonderful memories and treasured moments will remain with all of her friends and family. And – – – she was greatly blessed to have had her loving son, Eddie, and ALL her girls and great-grandchildren to continue making her feel needed and loved in these past years. May God continue to bless each of you.

Dear Joyce leaves a legacy of Love, caring and compassion. I feel so blessed to have had the honor of having her in my life through the years and across the many miles. The times shared whether in person or via phone calls through-out the years are treasures that I hold dear.
Her children, grandchildren and especially those great-grandchildren were the jewels she valued the very most and brought her great joy and comfort. Thank you all for sharing her with the rest of us.
Mrs. Joyce was always such a sweet and classy lady. I always had the upmost respect for her. I feel blessed to have known her. I hadn’t seen or talked to her in many years but I know she will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Many memories of this sweet lady. Her love for her family was indescribable. I can only imagine her reunion with Mr. Johnny and Tami was all she ever dreamed of. Although she will be missed, I look forward to the day we will meet again. I’m sure she, my mom and other Clarendon ladies are having a great reunion.
