Mildred Floyd Cox, 89, of Jacksonville, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2018. She was born on September 12, 1928 in Hazen, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Festus and Iva Floyd; her husband, Virgil Cox; her brothers, Morris Floyd (Vera Floyd), J.D. Floyd; her sisters, Thelma Saul (Harry Saul), and Jeffie Zarlingo and her brother-in-law, Harvey Key. Mildred leaves behind her sister, Ruth Kee; her brother-in-law, Pasco Zarlingo, many nieces, nephews, and a host of wonderful friends. Mildred was a shining light to everyone she met. She always had a smile on her face and offered words of encouragement. Her wittiness was part of her character, as well as her love and desire to help others. She loved the Lord! Mildred worshiped at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and anywhere else that her friends wanted her to go. She will be greatly missed!
Her homecoming celebration will be at Centerpoint Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 11, 2018. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial service to follow at Centerpoint Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Centerpoint Cemetery upkeep fund.
