Addie Elizabeth Case, 97, of Hazen died Tuesday, May 3, 2017. She was retired from the Hazen School District. Addie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and her son, Mike Case.
She is survived by one son, Doris Cunningham (Evelyn) of Morrilton; two daughters, Rachel Homes of Conway and Geneva Manson (Bob) of Hazen; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 5, 2017 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Center Point Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Center Point Cemetery.
We loved Addie very much. She had such a sense of humor, and we enjoyed visiting with her. God bless her family and pray you draw near to the Lord for comfort.
As an extraordinary lady in many ways, Mrs. Addie Case left a fascinating legacy that will be forever cherished by all who knew her. Her QUANTITY of years of life (97) was extraordinary with her lifespan covering 18 U.S. Presidents from Woodrow Wilson to Donald Trump. Her QUALITY of life was equally extraordinary as she experienced firsthand “The Roaring 20’s,” “The Great Depression,” WWII, etc. She knew what it was like to live through “hard times.” Yet, through it all she maintained a consistent optimism, viewing each day of life as a gift from God. Her first cousin, who is now 94 years old, recently remarked that he always remembered Mrs. Addie having a gentle and kind nature from her childhood on, “never being upset and always seeing the best in people.”
Mrs. Addie’s life impacted and encouraged countless others. We miss her, but we take comfort knowing that she is now with her Savior, and with fellow believers in Christ who have preceded her to our eternal home. May God bless her family, a family who showed their love for her and took care of her needs as best as humanly possible. We appreciate them.
