Verbena D. Foster , 87, of Hazen, passed away April 23, 2024 at the Maple Healthcare Nursing Home in Hazen surrounded by her loved ones. She was born August, 17, 1936 in Abernathy, Texas.
Verbena’s joy in life was raising her children and taking care of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist church in Hazen.
Verbena is survived by her children, Victoria Wadley of Batesville, Veta Mitchell of Batesville, Gail O’Neal of Stuttgart, Jerry May of DeValls Bluff, Anthony Foster of Paragould, and Jan Files of Jonesboro; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Willie Mae Davis; her husband, James D. Foster ; her brothers, Sonny Davis, Lee Roy Davis, Marshall Davis, Daniel Johnson, and George Johnson and her sister, Ila Mae Miller.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Sunset Cemetery in West Helena, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Katelyn O’Neal, Tyler O’Neal, Devin May, Jordan May, Scott Files, and Bryan Files. Honorary Pallbearers are David A. Mitchell, Jimmy Wadley, and Johnny O’Neal.
So sorry for your loss. I met Ms Foster a couple of times. She was a sweet lady. Prayers of comfort for the family.
