Gina Smith Sage

Gina Smith Sage, born on July 6th, 1970, passed away on June 27th, 2024 due to complications of a stroke.

Gina attended Carlisle Public Schools, during  the class of 1988, Gina was a cheerleader and the homecoming queen. After graduation, she then obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. She taught at Carlisle Elementary as a special education paraprofessional for over 20 years, shining the light of Jesus in the classroom. Gina’s faith was the most important aspect of her life, always making it her first priority every morning. She loved people fiercely and put others’ needs above her own. She was a huge fan of Walt Disney World, Chick-Fil-A, and spending time with her family.

Gina resided in Carlisle where she raised 3 God-fearing children, all of whom obtained a college degree; her sons Ryan Sage and Landon (Dana) Sage: her daughter Jayleigh Sage. She is also survived by her parents Johnny and Barbara Smith; sister Donna (John) Keathley; and brother Jay (Chelsey) Smith. She was also a first-time grandmother to Amelia Sage. She loved being Aunt Gigi to her nieces and nephews; Griffin, Sawyer, Dawson, Abby, and John Avery.

Services for Gina will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 3:00 PM at The Bridge Church in Lonoke, visitation will begin prior to the service at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow in Brownsville Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted with Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.

  1. We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Mrs. Gina. She was an amazing lady who cared for my son like he was her own and for that I am forever grateful. Prayers for peace and comfort for the family as they navigate through life and loss.
