William Carlton (Butch / W.C.) Tarter

William TarterWilliam Carlton (Butch / W.C.) Tarter, 67, of North Little Rock, AR passed away to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2016.

He was the 3rd and youngest son of Arthur and Ruby Tarter born on August 28, 1949.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ruby, and infant brother, Bobby Joe.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Denise Ann (Gerren) Tarter and only child, William “Keith” Tarter, brother Charles Tarter and his wife, Chloe, and son Bobby Joe of Hazen, AR.

Butch / W.C. had a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a Masters degree in Theology.  He was a retired ordained Baptist minister, former Chief Cost Accountant at Leisure Arts, consultant for the Small Business Administration department at University of Arkansas at Little Rock, accountant at Windsor Door Company as well as entrepreneur and businessman.

Butch / W.C. enjoyed fishing, sports, travelling and especially joking with the friends and family he so loved.  He enjoyed reading and studying history and theology.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen, AR.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church in Hazen, AR.

Interment will be at Carlisle Cemetery in Carlisle, AR.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the many caring nurses and doctors at Springhill Baptist Hospital Inpatient Services, Intensive Care and Rehabilitation Services.

  1. Denise & Keith, I am sorry for your loss. It seems like only yesterday that we stood in Calvary Baptist church for you & Butch to start that 47 year journey. He will be missed, but now he is with his heavenly family. I will keep you both in prayer & am only a phone call away. God bless you & Keith as you go through each day ahead.
