Versa Dean Jones, 89, of Clarendon, passed away at her home on December 15, 2023. She was a member of the Clarendon Missionary Baptist Church and a wonderful seamstress.
Versa was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Jones; her parents, James and Sally Wheatley, and one great-grandson. She is survived by two sons, Jackie Jones and wife, Beth of Clarendon and Danny Jones of Aberdeen; one brother, Thomas Wheatley; five sisters, Glenda,
Sandra, Sue, Ernie Mae and Shirley; two grandchildren, Christina Quick and Melissa Parr and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 18, 2023 at Clarendon Missionary Baptist Church in Clarendon with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., prior to the service. Burial will be in the Hazen Cemetery in Hazen, Arkansas.
Sister Jones was a wonderful Christian lady whom we were privileged to attend church with for many years. What an inspiration. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
To the Wheatley family. I had Wilma, Shirley, and Ernie Mae in Home Ec, and maybe one of the younger girls. That was a long time ago, but I knew Versa Dean and Ray in church. Sally was always in church. I know you will miss Versa. She was a friendly person. My family is much smaller now, also. Would love to see all of you.
