Ronnie Lee “Sonny” Morris

sonny morrisRonnie Lee “Sonny” Morris, 51, of Hazen was born February 2, 1963 and passed away September 27, 2014.  Ronnie was born in Des Arc, Arkansas to Ronnie and Mary Hill Morris.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Morris and two step-fathers, Jim Morris and Cleveland Swaim , nephew, Jimmy Lee Walker, and grandparents, Carl and Robbie Hill.  He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years,

Sharon Lock Morris and son, Matthew of Hazen.; mother, Mary Hill Morris of Hazen; three sisters, Mary Ann Morris  (Jimmy Seely) of Hazen, Marie Walker (Marty) of Hazen, Teresa Swaim of Des Arc; brother, J.C. Swaim (Patty) of Des Arc; grandmother, Bessie Swaim of Carlisle; sister-in-law, Amanda Robinson (John) of Brooksville, Kentucky; sister-in-law’s, Sherry Romain (Larry) of Des Arc. Dovie Baxter (Michael Joe) of Searcy, and Sarah Powell (Phillip) of Des Arc; father-in-law, Leroy Lock and wife, Darlene of Des Arc; 17 nieces, 15 nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sonny was a very hard working man and he was passionate about his work and was successful in every aspect of his craft.  He enjoyed gardening and happily shared the fruits of his labor with everyone.

Above all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and hosting family gatherings.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation was held Monday, September 29, 2014, at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen.  Funeral services were 4:00 P.M.,  Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at theFirst Baptist Church in Hazen by Bro. Ralph Perry.  Burial was in the Walter’s Chapel Cemetery.  Arrangements were by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.

    We were so sorry to hear of Sonny’s passing. He worked on my Mom’s house and I met him there, He was a very hard worker and did a great job.We are praying for the family during this time and the days ahead and pray for peace and comfort to you all.
