Raymond Eddie Calvert, age 75, of Carlisle went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his residence. He was born April 13, 1944 to W.W. and Ruby Calvert of Carlisle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Calvert; his parents; one brother, James Calvert; one sister, Rebecca Gwen and one grandson, Scott Eddie Bushart.

Raymond was a member of Rowes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of Vilonia Wagon Club and Central Arkansas Horse & Wagon Club for several years. He was an enthusiast horse lover and loved working his team and riding.

Raymond is survived by three daughters; Janet Marie Roberts (Derek Bradley) of Humphrey, Melanie Bernice (Scott) Bushart of Little Rock, and Mary Alice (Edward) Bowlan of Carlisle; eight grandchildren, Tabitha (Michael) Way, Kennith Roberts, Kayla, Stephanie, Samantha, and Sabrina Buschart and Cody and Brent Bowlan; thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

A special thanks to Shannon Harvey, his caretaker, who became a beloved addition to the family for the past few years and fulfilled his wishes to stay home around his family and his horses.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 31, 2019 at Rowes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church North of Humnoke. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery.

    I’ll keep all of your family in my prayers and thoughts. Snake was a great part of the club.Enjoyed listening to him and all the other older members tell their stories at camp.Thankful he is not in pain and is in peace now.So sorry for your lost.Love to all.
