Joe Dan Daniels passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at the age of 66 after a lengthy illness. Joe Dan was born August 5, 1953, to Daniel Edward and Marie Smith Daniels in Little Rock. Joe Dan graduated from Strider Academy in Charleston, Mississippi; Hinds Jr. College in Raymond, Mississippi and Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Joe Dan was a mechanic specialist for many years and retired at the age of 48. He attended Eudora Baptist Church. The most important part of Joe Dan’s life was his family and friends. His sense of humor was appreciated by everyone who knew him. He was loyal, kind-hearted, and always ready to lend a helping hand. If someone needed a friend, he was always there.
Joe Dan is survived by his sister, Gwendolyn Daniels Grissom; his niece, Octavia Grissom Dunavent, and his great niece, Lila Octavia Dunavent.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Edward and Marie Smith Daniels; his sisters, Delylah Grace Daniels and Betty Lyn Daniels; his maternal grandparents, Samuel Laurence and Lila Octavia Gilliam Smith; his paternal grandparents, James Oliver and Gracie West Daniels and his nephew-in-law, Thomas Edward Dunavent, husband of Octavia.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M., prior to the service at 2:00 P.M., at Hamilton Baptist Church, Carlisle, Arkansas. Interment to follow at Hamilton Cemetery, Carlisle, Arkansas.
