Julie “Robin” Sample

Julie “Robin” Sample, of Lonoke,  beloved daughter, sister, mother, “BeBe” and friend left here and entered Beulah land on Sunday, July 26, 2015.

Robin was born on March 9, 1957 to J.E. and Julia (Taylor ) Sample.  She was the third of six children.

Robin graduated from Lonoke High School and several years later decided to go to nursing school.  She worked at Wal-Mart for several years and at Golden Years Manor for a great many years, but has spent the last 14 years working for Dr. Les Anderson.

She was many things to many people, but the one thing she was to everyone was a woman who stood strong in her faith.  She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was always glad to share her personal testimony with others.  Robin loved to work for the Lord and was always busy with something in the church.

Robin was a member of New Bethel MBC in Hazen, where she served faithfully in many areas, from teaching the children, to blessing and touching all with her music.  She had the voice of an angel here and is now singing her praises to the King in person.

Robin was preceded in death by her father, J.E. Sample and a sister, Debbie (Sample) Shreve.

She is survived by her mother, Julia Hart of Lonoke; three brothers, Curtis Sample of Milton, Florida, John Sample of Bonney Lake, Washington, and Tracy (Mary) Sample of Shertz, Texas; one sister, Patti Hart of Jacksonville, Arkansas; three children, Jennie (Todd) Cole of Hazen, Joe (Sarah) Mills of Hazen and Sara (Seth) Justice of North Little Rock; two grandchildren, Carlee and Laycee Mills of Hazen; 6 step-grandchildren, Britney (Rob) Jackson of Stuttgart, Shelia Thompson of Stuttgart, Darius Cole of Hazen, Alanais and Kalib Cole of Lonoke, and Marquelle Cole of Furlow; 6 six step-great grandchildren all of Stuttgart; 10 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen.  Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M.Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Hazen.

  1. To say Robin Sample was a friend is quite an understatement . . . she was more like a sister to me. I am a much better person from having known and associated with Robin. I was privileged to stand beside her and sing many times; she indeed had the voice of an angel. My love, prayers, and sincere condolences to her family. May you experience the peace, comfort, and strength that only our Heavenly Father can give. Robin Sample will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Robin has been a true friend to us for many, many years. Words cannot express the deep grief that we are experiencing at this time. Robin truly possessed a “God” given talent and was always willing to use her talent
to bring honor and glory to her Lord and Savior. We want to express our
heart-felt condolences to all of her family during this time. Your family
    is in our prayers.

  5. So so sorry to hear about Robin. What a sweet and gentle person. The highlight of our Christmas parties at Golden Years Manor was always when Robin would sing for everyone.

Sweet family of Robin, I love this wonderful woman! We went through so many good and not so good times together. She was in my first wedding and there in her supportive, stoical way when it crumbled. We had the opportunity to share many of our memories during a recent visit in the hospital which I wouldn’t trade for anything. Her friendship was pure like her other loyalties and she had the mischievous smile that would send Jannie, Genene, Debbie, and me into a fit of giggles. High School would have been so bland without her. We had many adventures that created a bond that goes beyond this flimsy life. She taught me to drive a standard…well, she tried! We had our babies and oohed and Ahhed over them. We had our successes and a few failures but we both knew the other was a phone call away. Her humorous manner of telling me the unvarnished truth was priceless. Robin Sample was and is a woman of character. I love her and she lives on in my memories of her. I grieve with you but know I will see her again and we might just swipe another Christmas tree ; )

Our hearts break at the thought of loosing a loveone, but at the same time are comforted knowing they are no longer suffering the cruel chains of this world and are resting peacefully in the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Robin holds a special spot in our hearts and will truely be mised. I can still hear her sweet voice singing praises to our Lord. We are honored to have known her as a loving friend and awesome Sister in Christ! We want so much to be there with you in this hard time but health won’t allow it. Your all in our thoughts prayers, we love you,
    Charlie & Terrie

  8. Robin was such a special friend and there were many times that we helped each other through hard times in each of our lives. She was so funny at times! I am truely saddened by the loss of her on this earth, but know that she is happy in the arms of Jesus right now.

Oh my goodness, what a great Christ filled lady whose songs made you sit back and enjoy God’s goodness in the songs she sang. I always admired her and enjoyed knowing her. She is definitely in Paradise singing praises to our Father in Heaven. God thinks she is sooo special that he wants her with him, what a glorious time she is having. She will truly be missed by many.
