Joe Randall Mills

Joe Randall Mills, beloved Father and “PePaw”, left his earthly home, Sunday, November 26, 2023. Randall was born to Joe Virgil & Lottie (Adams) Mills of Hazen, AR on June 11, 1955. Randall was a graduate of Hazen High School, where for a brief time, drove a school bus. After graduating he went to work for the Prairie County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy. After leaving the sheriff’s department he went to work for Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, where he worked for many years. Randall also worked at Lennox Industries and Wacken Hut Security/ G4 Security.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, metal detecting and playing the guitar (Rhythm, Bass and Steel). At the time of his passing, Randall was a member of Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as instrumentalist and Sunday school teacher.

Randall was preceded in death by three sisters, Deanna June, Brenda Jane, and Shelia Ruth Mills, all of Hazen; his parents, Virgil and Lottie Mills, of Hazen, Arkansas.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Jennie Cole, son, Joe Ryan (Sarah) Mills, and two grandchildren, Carlee and Laycee Mills, all of Hazen; and a host of other family members, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Visitation will be, Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen, funeral service will be, Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 2:00PM, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hazen, interment will follow at Center Point Cemetery.

  3. I am going to miss Randall at Church. I very much enjoyed his Sunday School. He will be greatly missed at Greenwood. I will miss hearing me play the guitar.

  4. I have such wonderful memories of making music with Randall and the band back in the day. Whether we played in a barn or in the building behind his house, it was always a good time. RIL friend. Now you can play for the angels.

  5. Bro Randall’s death is such a shock and sorrow to us at Greenwood Church. Our hearts go out to the family and friends. We lift you up to the Heavenly Father as you mourn this loss of a Godly man, and Randall will be very much missed by the Greenwood church family.

  6. I went to church at Greenwood Missionary Baptist church, where I met Randall. I always enjoyed his guitar playing and his teaching. I know he will be missed there. God grant peace and comfort to the family, amen

His presence here will truly be missed but knowing the reunion in heaven warms my heart and soul. My brother you have broken the chains of pain and suffering of this world and walk anew with loved ones in your eternal home.
