George Vernon Martin, born June 30, 1941, died June 13, 2026 at Chambers Health and Rehabilitation. George was a longtime resident of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas. George was preceded in death by his parents, the late Frank and Gertrude Smith Martin; his siblings Frank Martin, Jr., Eugene Martin, Jo Ann Stewart, Melba West, Gatha Hightower, Sue Martin, Ella Mae Martin, and his wife of twenty-five years, Laverene (Hale) Martin. He is survived by his sisters, Donna Fricker of DeValls Bluff, Shirley Harness (James) of Vilonia, brother Dale Martin of North Little Rock; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff members of Chambers Health and Rehabilitation of Carlisle and Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen for the care and services they provided. A graveside service for George will be Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 beginning at 10:00 A.M. held at the Biscoe Cemetery.
