Dorothy Belle Gates, age 82 of Hazen, died Monday, January 12, 2015. She was born July 9, 1932 in Prairie County, the daughter of Sherman and Odell Webb.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Gates; daughter, Linda Darlene Boothe, and sister, Arva Jean Robinson.
She is survived by one son, Carlos Gates of Hazen; 4 grandchildren, Danny Boothe, Tina Gladish, Cyle Gates, and Craig Gates and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 15, at the Center Point Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Center Point Cemetery.

Our family is praying for peace and comfort for you. We will miss “Grandma Dorothy.” That’s how she was introduced to us and that’s how we’ll always think of her. We’re grateful for the love and kindness she always showed our family.

We were so sorry to get the news of Ms. Dorothy. She was a precious person and loved her family so much. She would always ask me if I had seen Cyle everytime I was home and got to see her. We go back a long time and I will never forget her.
