Carol Ann Rowland (Cotten)

Carol Ann Rowland (Cotten), 84, of Hazen, went to see the Lord September 18. She was born in De Witt, Arkansas, to Willie and Aquila (Trussel) Cotten. A honor student at DeWitt High School, she excelled in English & shorthand with honors. She started her banking career at First National DeWitt & then was at Peoples Bank Stuttgart & First National Wynne & then many years Bank of Hazen, now Cadence Bank. She was a good golfer, loved the game and had a couple of club championships at Grand Prairie Country Club. She was also known for her gardening, decorating skills & flower arrangement.

Carol Ann was preceded in death by her parents Willie & Aquila Cotten, sister Katherine Cotten, and brothers, Billy D. Cotten & William Cotten. She is survived by brothers Sammy Cotten (Jane) of Lombard, Illinois, & Thomas Cotten of Cabot, Arkansas, daughter Marti Rowland Gurley, granddaughter Hanleigh Gurley, both of St Louis Missouri, and a number of nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be at 10:00am, Saturday, October 5, at Westbrook Funeral Home with memorial service immediately following at 11:00 at Westbrook Chapel.
