Alex Dewey Hayes, Jr. 62, of McRae, Arkansas formerly of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019. A private memorial service was held Saturday, August 24, 2019. He was born in San Angelo, Texas on October 16, 1956. He was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed going to the gym, listening to old country music, mainly Hank Williams, spending time with friends, and he was a Confederate rebel at heart.
Alex was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Hayes and his father, A.D. Hayes, Sr. and two step mothers, Veda Hayes and Sarah Hayes and his brother, Danny Hayes.
Survivors include his brother, Billy Hayes of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Debra Coyle of Albany, Georgia; nephew, Shelton Petty III (MaLynn) of Leesburg, Georgia; niece, Maeghan Coyle of Panama City, Florida; two great-nieces and a special friend, Stacy Kelly. Honorary children are Jeremy Carpenter, Mehgan Zeferjohn and Lenzy Duncan;
Honorary grandchildren, April Carpenter, Lydia Zeferjohn, Deymein Duncan and Espen Duncan.
