James “Jug” Lavoy Tipton, 76, of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on February 10, 2026, at his home.

Jug was born on July 5, 1949, in Carlisle, Arkansas, to J.B. and Tessie Tipton. He joined the United States Army in 1969, serving as an 11B Infantryman until he was honorably discharged in 1975.

After his military service, Jug worked for NAPA in Stuttgart and Carlisle for many years, retiring in 2022.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Persons, and his brother, Johnny Tipton.

Jug is survived by his wife of 47 years, Corman Hartley Tipton; his children, Derrick (Janie) Tipton of Conway, Tonya (Earl) Sanders of Stuttgart, Amanda (Lindy) Baker of DeValls Bluff, and Jeremy (Tina) Tipton of Carlisle; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; his sister, Marty (Robert) Tucek of Stuttgart; his brother-in-law, Donald Persons of Humphrey; his sister-in-law, Karen Tipton of Hazen; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved greatly.

Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2026 beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted with Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen, Arkansas.
