Agnes Batchelor

Agnes was born on April 14, 1933 in Oakgrove, Texas to Jess and Eunice Hazelwood. She went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2019 at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.

Agnes was married to Boyce Lee Batchelor on December 18, 1950 in Texarkana, Arkansas.

She was a loving mother and wife and a great cook. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed fixing her cookies for them. She enjoyed quilting and made many quilts for loved ones. Agnes has lived the past 10 years at Chambers Nursing Home where she loved to talk to others and read her books.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Boyce Lee Batchelor, infant son, Larry Batchelor, son, Clifford Steve Batchelor, brothers, Howard Hazelwood and Curtis Hazelwood, granddaughter, Rebecca Burroughs, and great-granddaughter, Candace Vernon.

Agnes is survived by one son, David Batchelor, Sr.; 9 grandchildren, David Batchelor, Jr. (Kristy), Phillip Batchelor (Carla), Steven Litton (Tricia), Cliff Wagner (Mandy), Traci Haynes (Matt), Michelle Moran (Thomas), Jessica Baca (Miquel), Mindy Wagner, Heather Batchelor, and Avery Batchelor, 27 great-grandchildren and days away from having her first great-great granddaughter. She also had numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Carlisle. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in De-Kalb, Texas.

  1. My Aunt Agnes was also known for sharing her soda pop in the fridge, I have lots of memories of visits. Jo Annie Hazelwood -Brunton was also her sister.
