Warren Doss entered his eternal home on Tuesday February 11, 2014. Born December 17, 1924 at Ruston, LA. Preceded in death by his wife Etta Doss; parents Henry Doss and Amelia Doss; one brother Madden Doss; one sister, Cornelia May; and one son Dan Doss. He is survived by his son and his wife Rick Doss and Paula Doss; grand-daughter Jennifer Doss; great grand-son Noble Doss all of Little Rock, AR ; grand-son and his wife Jacob and Larissa Doss; and great grand-sons Nathaniel and Greyson Doss all of Rockledge, FL.
Shortly after completing high school in 1943, Warren was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the 8th Infantry Division 3rd Battalion 121st Regiment in combat in France, Belgium and Germany. With the 8th (Golden Arrow) Infantry Division in Germany he was awarded three Bronze Stars for heroic achievement. His great personal courage and devotion to duty contributed largely to the evacuation of three wounded men whose lives would otherwise have been lost.
After release from armed services he attended Southern State University majoring in business administration, served 12 years in oil, investments and accounting. He was a tax auditor for the Arkansas Employment Security Division for 9 years.
He moved to Hazen and opened an Accounting and Tax office until his retirement. Warren served as Prairie County Justice of Peace, member of Hazen First United Methodist Church, teacher for Fellowship Sunday School Class, member of Men’s Fellowship Class, Choir, and Administrative Board.
Services will be Saturday February 15 at 2 PM at Hazen First United Methodist Church and burial at Czech Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Memorials may be made to Hazen United Methodist Church or charity of your choice.
