Gerald Meiner, 87, of Hazen, went home to the Lord on January 3, 2015. he was born and attended school in DeWitt, Arkansas. Gerald’s survivors include his wife of 68 years, Nye Meiner and son, Mark Meiner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Mabel Meiner and brother, Bill Meiner.
Gerald began rice farming at the age of 8 and retired at 73. He also served in the Army. Gerald’s interests were his relationship with the good Lord, family’s wishes and well being, farming, friends, the outdoors, news and weather.
As a young man he loved duck and deer hunting. Gerald will truly be missed as he always was concerned with the right way to do things in life particularly his interactions with other people holding their wishes and well being above his own.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Hazen.
