Robert N. (Bob) Parker Sr

Robert N. (Bob) Parker Sr, 97, of Carlisle was born May 1, 1928, to the late Charlie and Lena Horne Parker and passed away February 13, 2026.  Bob was a 1947 graduate of Carlisle High School. He was a member of the Hamilton Methodist Church and a 50 plus year member of the Hazen Masonic Lodge.

He was a “retired” farmer that never really retired.  He loved the land and everything that went into making a successful crop. Bob started his farming career with his father and brothers in the Hamilton area. On August 22, 1947, he married the love of his life, Betty Curry, and they shared 62 years together.  Later he and Betty moved to Hazen continuing their own farming career, where they farmed for 10 years.  They eventually made their way back to the Hamilton Community where they farmed for the remainder of their lives.  Bob was a good teacher of sorts, but you’d better listen hard and learn it the first time. He was a soft-spoken man that meant what he said, whose handshake was as good as any contract.

Bob devoted his life to his family and his land. He was known for his strong morals and work ethic, instilling both into all those that surrounded him. His love of getting the job done was almost contagious. Bob’s mind was stronger than any challenge he ever faced. He always smiled in the face of adversity. In his prime, he could outwork anyone, with bets amongst his men as to how long the new guy would last.

Preceding him in death was his loving wife Betty Curry Parker, his daughter Dianne Parker Buffalo, his son Robert Parker, Jr., his granddaughter Elizabeth Buffalo Nelson, his brothers Elton Parker, Otis Parker, Bernie Parker, Alfred Parker, sisters Katharin Parker Bailey and Dorothy Parker Elmore. Also preceding him in death was his second wife, Billie Ruth Parker. Bob is survived by his daughter Judy Parker Jacuzzi (Dennis) of Rio Vista, Calif; his son-in-law Richard F. (Dickey) Buffalo of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Robert Parker III (Allison), Richard M. Buffalo (Kelly), Anthony Jacuzzi, Suzanne Buffalo Bible, Alexandria Buffalo Rice (Amy), Jessica Parker Hogan (Doug), and Natalie Jacuzzi; twelve great-grandchildren, Hayden and Presley Parker, Noah, Owen and Will Buffalo, Eric and Maive Bible, Ruby Cash, Lauren Pickering (Mackenzie), Alexis Nelson, Gibson Moore and Carmis Jacuzzi; one great-great-grandchild, Asher.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Hamilton Methodist Church with interment following at Hebron Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen.
